hi keith; although 2 of my 3 colonies died out in the late snow this spring, the survivor is coming on so strong she’s filled the broodbox with eggs and I’ve had to put on a double broodbox (- I’ve never done that before). she doesn’t seem very swarmy though… you’ve mentioned you “split any colonies that look strong enough to take it” – how does this differ from traditional (pagden) “artificial swarming”? and will double-broodbox make it easier or harder? ta, glen (sorry that’s a bit technical and specific. enjoying the blog news!)

I am looking at the possibility of volunteering purely for gardening activities on and ad hoc basis but do not know if that is available. It is ad hoc because I am still in full-time work.
